The month of May came and went like the exuberant toss of a graduation mortarboard cap. It was a month of glory and grief hugging too tightly to separate one from the other. We laughed and reminisced and wept behind our sunglasses, at the sheer fortune of it all. In between the fanfare, I made some art because I wanted to, and because I needed to. It’s medicinal.

Back in November, I borrowed a prompt from my friend Lori Harris and wrote an article here called, “Can I say This Here?” and I loved that free form so much that I’ve been debating if I could do another article in the same vein.
