I didn’t manage to get this posted before the end of the month but I did manage to complete 4 cards for the month of January, and I am, I confess, happy to be able to say that I did what I set out to do! I am often keen to start things, but sometimes prone to losing interest mid-stream, or pivoting (often with good reason) before the thing is finished. I don’t necessarily see this as a bad thing—I think it’s ok to quit things for a number of valid reasons, the same way I bless the decision to not finish a book. We don’t need as much permission in life as we think we do.
January comes at us with all of her invitations to do new things, to pick up new habits, lay down old ones, to re-design our lives and ourselves in the New Year. And there’s something delightful and invitational in all of that. But it can feel like pressure too. Like we are a project more than a person,
